Thank you CoCo for bringing this ex-JW literalist up to speed.
I hope that your words are not prophetic of my son, but alas, he has his own free will (debatable, I know) and all I can do is give a nudge here, a scold there and the occasional well-timed hug.

Latest convention brochure on,,, the Governing Body
by cedars ini've finally get my hands on a pdf of one of the two newly released brochures, this one entitled "who are doing jehovah's will today?".
here's a link so you can download your own copy.... http://www66.zippyshare.com/v/98881625/file.html.
predictably, the brochure is extremely vague on key topics.

This is a golden opportunity, IMO, particularly for former elders to mess with currently serving elders.
OM: Hey there Brother Naive Elder (BNE), what did you think about the new brochure?
BNE: New brochure? Oh yes, certainly "Food At The Proper Time (tm)".
OM: So, I'm curious, is the local BOE going to adopt the same standard as the Governing Body?
BNE: Whaaa?
OM: Well, the new brochure states that today's GB follows the same pattern as the 1st Century GB in that it only takes action when the the ENTIRE GROUP is UNANIMOUS in their decision. So, will the local brothers be following the same "pattern"?
Let the fun begin.

Hey there CoCo,
You know, my son has the option (if it's not too late) of signing up for Creative Writing in High School next year.
He could just copy and paste what you write and..... EASY "A"!!
Just kidding. Some of what you write at times escapes me, but I always enjoy reading it.
BTW, you have a PM.

A little update on my family
by sooner7nc ina few of you may remember that my wife had a kidney transplant early last year.
since then the kidney has been incredible, giving her a new lease on life.
it's really been good to see the light in her eyes that i had missed for quite a long time.. the counterpoint to this good news is the problems we have had with our son coltin.

Yeah, we were amazed when we visited FILOLI for the first time. The estate is HUGE and the diversity of plants is astounding.

AGuest/Shelby's furbaby Li-Li is home!
by watersprout injust received an email off shelby to say that li-li arrived home a few hours ago.
she's in a bad way, rushed to the vet's as she pee'd blood all over the floor.
she has three small punctures, badly bruised and is doped up with pain killers and antibiotics.. the vet think's that due to her injuries she was kicked as well as being involved in a dog fight.. shelby is on full alert for any signs of internal damage loss of thirst/appetite, listlessness, more blood in urine etc.

Thanks for posting this watersprout.
Li-li is a good little pooch. I hope she weathers this setback OK.
The more people I know, the better I like dogs.

For sir82, torn apart, and any other current recipients of sKally's High Horse broken record, I took the time to engage her over the effectiveness of her approach back in August of 2008.
Unless she's got something new to add to her morally superior position I have no desire to go down that road again.

How do you deal with your "down" time?
by compound complex inby that, i don't mean so much what you do in your leisure time but how you manage the freedom to choose what you will or will not do.
off the wt treadmill, i no longer feel guilty about what is now my neglect of theocratic activity; however, after a nonstop week such as i have just lived through (barely), i am doing nothing, going nowhere, and accepting no new obligations (for the moment).
i can stare at the sky, enjoy the beautiful day and not worry that demons are rushing to fill the void in my empty skull.. you?.

LMSA: " When I get my own place, I'm going electric. "
I'm assuming that will include an increase in volume?
Both (acoustic & electric) are great, IMO, depending on the mood.

sir82: "A couple dozen of the "known apostate" names are comic book character names."
I'm pretty sure they're on the list because someone is posting under those names with messages against the WT.
I don't do Facebook, but I sure enjoyed reading "Nelson Birdwell's" posts a year or two ago. Hilarious.
